After a great opening round playoff series win against the Seattle Totems, the Eugene Generals finished the season losing to the Ft. Vancouver Pioneers 3 games to none in the Division Finals. Two loses at Fort Vancouver was followed by a tough, heart breaking 7-3 loss at home to end the season. Despite all the adversity the players faced this year they came through and gave the fans of Eugene a team to be proud of. Pictures from Friday's loss to Ft. Vancouver are here! The Eugene Generals finished the 2006-07 regular season in style, winning their last 5 contests to finish at 26-18 and in third place. The club now awaits information on their playoff seeding and appearances. A few pictures from the home finale against the River City Jaguars are available here! For two consecutive nights the Eugene Generals were abler to do what they had only done once before during this season, shut a team out. A huge 7-0 win on Friday night and another 5-0 win on Saturday. The wins up the Generals record to 23-18 with three road games remaining before the playoffs start. Pictures from Saturday's win are available here! GENERALS DEFEAT PIONEERS 4-3! A big and important victory for the Eugene Generals tonight, defeating the Ft. Vancouver Pioneers for the first time this season by a score of 4-3! The win improves Eugene's record to 21-15 for the season. Pictures from the game are available here! I sadly cannot attend Saturday's rematch but will be back for the regular season home finals (atleast one game for sure) against Puget Sound the 26th and 27th of January. GENERALS GET THANKSGIVING WEEKEND SWEEP ! After losing several close the games the Eugene Generals appear to be back on their winning ways sweeping the Seattle Junior Totems 6-0 and 5-4 on Friday and Saturday respectively then finishing the weekend with a good 13-2 win over River City on Sunday. Friday was a great start with the first shutout win of the year for the Generals and over a good Seattle club to boot. Pictures from the Friday night win are available here! On Saturday the club came back from a early deficit to win 5-4 and take two games from the Totems, who sit two points in front of Eugene in the standings in second place. Sunday the Generals got rolling early and kept on going. It looked like perhaps a second shutout but the Jags got on the board in the second period and added one in the third but the Generals won going away 13 to 2 and now have a 6 point lead over Tri-City and an 8 point lead over 5th place Puget Sound. Pictures from Sunday's contest are available here! Seven of the Generals last eight games have been decided by 2 goals or less. Sadly the team has lost six of those games including their last two home games by scores of 4-5 and 3-4 in overtime. The team just can't seem to get over the hum,p lately. Hopefully that changes soon as the club has three home games coming up the Friday Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving. Pictures from Saturday's heart breaking OT loss to Tri-City can be seen here! GENERALS GET BIG WIN OVER SEATTLE! The Generals picked up a big 8-3 win over Seattle at home last night. Pictures from the game are available HERE. Pictures from Puget Sound game October 16th HERE! I will be attending the game against Seattle either on the 3rd or 4th of November. The Generals picked up a big come from behind victory Friday night. Knotting the score at 1-1, then 2-2, then 3-3 with 9 seconds remaining in the game before winning early in OT over the visiting Titans. Saturday started similiar with the Generals going down very early, but unlike Saturday, the team would take control of the game and win 5-2 for the home sweep. Pictures from the Generals Friday night win vs Tri-City are available here! I fully expect to attend and photograph the Monday night game vs Puget Sound on October 16th. After a 3-0 start the Eugene Generals have fallen to 3-3. Losing the second of two road games at Seattle last weekend 7-2 (Eugene won on Friday 4-2). The Generals came home to face the ever tough Fort Vancouver Pioneers and lost both games by scores of 5-4 and 6-4. Although I didn't attend the Saturday game I was told it was a close contest not unlike Friday's 5-4 loss to the Pios! Fort Vancouver is a good team and actually won the Western Division regular season crown last year with the Generals winning the playoff competition and gaining a berth in the Cascade Cup Finals. Pictures from the Generals Friday night game are available here! It was a night to honor a lost friend and coach and the team played with heart and emotion in a big 5-3 opening night win over the River City Jaguars at Lane County Ice Friday night. Up 4-2 after the first period, the Generals would score two minutes into the second period then not score the rest of the game but the Jags would only add a third period goal for the final 5-3 tally! Pictures from the win can be seen here! 2005-06 PHOTOS STILL AVAILABLE ! As I mentioned before 2005-06 was a great season. Sadly the off season wasn't so kind to the team as Coach Freeland was tragically taken ill and soon thereafter passed away. I personally never met coach but only heard good things about him. The Fan Page would like to express deepest sympathy to the Freeland family and the Generals players and staff. The team quickly named Chris Hartly as the new Head Coach. The 2006-07 campaign begins September 15th and 16th against the River City Jaguars. The next home stand will be the 29th and 30th against the Ft. Vancouver Pioneers. I have yet to check in with Chris Bilder, but I do plan to take photos again this year barring any unforseen circumstances. Best of luck to the team on their 2006-07 campaign!
